Our client was riding as a passenger on a bus when she was suddenly thrown to the floor after the bus operator made an abrupt stop to avoid rear-ending another vehicle. The bus surveillance footage established that the operator was traveling too fast for the surrounding traffic conditions and failed to follow key safety protocols, including maintaining proper stopping distance, braking appropriately, and remaining attentive.
As a consequence, our client sustained a mild traumatic brain injury along with additional
physical injuries. After mediation, we issued a 998 offer in the amount of $1.5 million, which was ultimately accepted by the defense.
This settlement will provide our client with the financial support needed to continue medical care and properly address the lasting effects of her injuries.
