We represented a police officer whose motorcycle suffered a flat tire. The tow truck company dispatched to assist him negligently dropped the motorcycle on top of him, causing serious shoulder and wrist injuries that ultimately prevented him from returning to work. Because liability was disputed, we had to establish that the tow truck company was acting as an agent of the dispatching company.
We resolved the claim against the tow truck company for their policy limits and proceeded to trial against the dispatching company, which had made a $0 pre-trial offer. After the trial began, we successfully resolved the entire case and secured a $1.5 million settlement for our client.
