Gary A. Dordick obtained a $5.5 Million settlement for plaintiffs Meiqun Zhu-Wong, a 41-year-old factory worker, her husband David Wong, and their baby daughter Lili Wong, against the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA). At the time of the accident Mrs. Zhu was pregnant. She claimed she was hit by a LACMTA bus while crossing an intersection on a green light and suffered injuries when the LACMTA bus failed to yield the right of way. LACMTA contended that Mrs. Zhu entered the intersection on a "don't walk" sign and walked into the side of the bus when it was already turning.
Mr. Dordick is frequently interviewed about lawsuits against the bus transit district, MTA. At one point in time Zhu v. LACMTA was one of the highest settlements ever against the MTA. Gary Dordick has been considered an expert In litigation against transit companies.
