Doe, Jane v. David, Alkiviades $900 Million Verdict - Los Angeles, California
June 2024
On June 17, 2024, in Department 76 of the Los Angeles Superior Court, a unanimous jury awarded a total of $900 million ($100 million compensatory damages and $800 million punitive damages) to plaintiff Jane Doe against Alkiviades David for sexual battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The case is Doe, Jane v. David, Alkiviades, Case No. 20STCV37498. The Trial Judge was Christopher L. Lui.
From February 2016 to April 2019, Ms. Doe worked for David's companies, including Filmon TV in Beverly Hills; Hologram USA, Inc.; SwissX Labs; and other companies, where she was subjected to sexual harassment and sexual assault, including rape.
This trial makes the 5th jury to award compensatory and punitive damages against David and his companies in the last 5 years for sexual assault in the workplace. Previous lawsuits were filed against David by lawyers Lisa Bloom and Gloria Allred.
There are other victims as well that settled prior to trial. David boasted to his employees after settling one case for $4 million dollars, “the piece of ass was so good it was worth the money.” The evidence also established that Ms. Doe's rape occurred while David was in the middle of another sexual assault trial in April 2019.
David is the heir to the Coca-Cola bottling company fortune. His family business is Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (Coca-Cola HBC), the 3rd largest Coca-Cola bottling and distribution company in the world, based in Europe.
Jane Doe was represented by Gary A. Dordick of DORDICK LAW CORPORATION. Mr. Dordick was the lead trial attorney, and Dustin Moaven was the second chair associate attorney.
